Former Vikings QB Wade Wilson Has Died

The Dallas Cowboys claimed Wilson handed away Friday at his household in Coppell, Texas.

DALLAS (AP) – Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback and longtime assistant mentor Wade Wilson has died.

The Dallas Cowboys claimed Wilson handed away Friday at his household in Coppell, Texas.

The staff did not specify a bring about of loss of life for Wilson, who died on his 60th birthday.

Wilson performed for 5 NFL teams from 1981-98. He performed 10 seasons for the Minnesota Vikings, leading them to the 1987 NFC championship match.

He also performed for the Atlanta Falcons (1992), New Orleans Saints (1993-94), Cowboys (1995-97) and Oakland Raiders (1998).

He was Troy Aikman’s backup when the Cowboys received their past Super Bowl title throughout the 1995 period.

Wilson began his coaching vocation as the Cowboys quarterback mentor from 2000-02, and returned to that purpose from 2007-17.

He coached with the Chicago Bears from 2004-06.
